Soldering Wire to the Rails
The next thing we are going to cover is how to solder your wires to your rails. For this, you are
going to need to drill holes through the board your track is mounted on so that you can fish the
wires through to attach them to the rails.
Using a drill bit just slightly larger than your
piece of wire, take your Dremel tool or drill
and drill a hole between the ties on the track,
close to the outside of the rail and down
through the board you have your track mount-
ed on. Both the Dremel (rotary) tool and the
drill will work for this project.
Go to the outside of the opposite rail and drill
a hole next to the outer side of that rail as well.
Now take your wire and fish it through the
hole on the outside of one of the rails.
