Now touch the tip of the soldering iron with
the solder on it to the outside of the rail where
you applied the flux. You don’t need to press
down hard, the heat will conduct the solder
and pull it right into the rail joiner.

Once you pull the soldering iron away, the re-
moval of the heat will allow the solder to so-
lidify and cure.

Now go to the outer side of the opposite rail.

Dip your toothpick into the flux.

Use the toothpick to apply the flux to the out-
side of the rail there the rail joiner cradles the
rail.
