Touch the tip of your hot soldering iron to the
flux.
Now touch the tip of your soldering iron to the
tip of your lightly unwound solder. You only
need to touch the tip of your soldering iron
into the flux every once in a while, not every
single time. The solder should almost instant-
ly melt and be transferred to the tip of your
soldering iron.
Immediately touch the tip of your soldering
iron to the exposed twisted wire strands. The
flux on the wires will help pull the solder in
between the strands of metal, binding the mul-
tiple strands into one.
Run the tip lightly up the wire about three
quarters of the way up, taking care not to
touch the outer casing and melt it.
