            Headed west yet again, we come to the
        railroad town of Skykomish, WA.  In the
        1920s, this town was a bustling hub with
        several hundred residents.  The town is still
        around today, topping out at around 200 peo-
        ple.  Here there is an engine facility for the
        Burlington Northern Railroad and the rail
        lines from the logging complex on the penin-
        sula feeds directly into the town.  As we
        leave Skykomish, we pass another sawmill,
        one of many that once dotted the country.
