Here the tracks run underneath, on a shal-
low downgrade arch to the right where it
emerges through a wooden tunnel portal on
the opposite side of Mount Idy, in Pack Sad-
dle Gap. There is a small yellow depot, its
back against the hard rocky structure of the
mountain. Across the tracks, opposite the
depot is a rundown building being refur-
bished by the G&NH Historical Society.
This is an actual society with personal ties to
friends of Jim, some of whom are portrayed
in miniature, working on the structure.
View 65 Pack Saddle Gap Depot
Just outside of Pack Saddle Gap the
tracks split. The arm going towards the right
follows close along the rocky cliff before
dead ending among the vines and shrubs that
climb the gray rock. The tracks that split off
to the left enter back under the mountain
through another wood tunnel portal. This
line makes almost a full loop underneath
Mount Idy before emerging on the outskirts
of Wycomb.
