Little Obie

There’s a new tool to
help educate and inform
children about the dan-
gers associated with
playing on or around
railroad tracks. And his
name is Little Obie. A
scale model of a Cana-
dian National locomo-
tive, flatcar, and
caboose, Little Obie was
originally created by
Paul Rose, an Illinois
Central railroad machin-
ist who sketched his
idea down on a napkin,
essentially designing
and developing a total
of three Little Obies.
Little Obie #2000 &
Little Obie #2007, each
numbered for the year
they were built, operate
across all of Canada,
while Little Obie #1914
operates in 16 states in
the United States, only
occasionally traveling to CN #1914 Little Obie at Trainfest 2017 West Allis, Wisconsin
Canada on special as-
signment.
