While so many children grow out of things
they are interested in by the time the reach
their teenage years, Bill’s love of trucks grew,
although now taking on a new medium: pho-
tos. Fueled by a similar interest shared by his
mother, photography became his hobby of
choice. Bill had an eye, even back then, for
big machines that moved. This included rail-
roads and boats.
He was never without at least one camera,
ever at the ready in case he came across some-
thing that caught his eye; and there usually
was. He was meticulous and particular in his
tastes. Over the years, he acquired more than
30,000 pictures and slides of trucks alone and
even more of trains and boats.
