A line that comes from the turntable takes the
long way around, across the front ridge of the rail-
road, past the wooden water tower and the passen-
ger coach that had been made into the yard office.
Jim runs his railroad as accurately as possible and
these are the areas that make this railroad even
more special.
The yard office was not simply placed on the
benchwork. That’s just not possible with the real
life railroads, so that wouldn’t be the way it was
done on the Fall River Line, either. Jim set up an
operating session where the yard office would be
brought in on two flatcars and would be unloaded
and set up using two cranes.
