There are Aloes that bloom and tall col-
umns of Euphorbias. By your feet grow
Lithops or Living Stones that store water in
their leaves that look like small stones.
There is a wonderful Dracaena draco, or
Dragon Tree. It is called this because in
Medieval times its red sap was nicknamed
“dragon’s blood.” This tree grows huge and
call live well over 1,000 years. You will
also find date palms and a small pool of
aquatic plants in the oasis, as well as Chile
Peppers. Cacti, such as Prickly Pear and
Golden Barrel, shrubs, and trees live here
also. In addition, there are different types of
caudex, meaning large swollen stems and
roots.
