Fall
Once again, just like it always does, Sum-
mer fades into Fall, bringing with it a whole
new scene and lots more for the residents of
Wisconsin to do. Miller Park, home of the
Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, is promi-
nently displayed at the very beginning of the
season. Miller Park replaced Milwaukee
County Stadium, which was being torn down
on the old layout.
There are a few Wisconsin landmarks that
have graced both the old layout and the new
one. The Allen Bradley clock tower is one of
them. Being an important part of Milwau-
kee’s skyline, it is easy to see why it was in-
cluded on both layouts.
The same can be said for the Wisconsin
Gas Building and the Mitchell Park Horticul-
tural Conservatory (The Domes), which both
appear nestled in the kaleidoscope of fall col-
ors that are a highlight of the region. Lights
have been installed inside The Domes to
show how they light up during the very real
light shows that are held there. Two towering
smokestacks bear witness to the demolition of
the old Milwaukee Road Shops down in the
Menominee Valley. In reality, even those are
gone now.
Local department stores such as Gold-
mann’s, Schuster’s and furniture store Kun-
zelmann Esser live on in the HO scale world
of the WBNPR. The man with the memora-

ble catch phrase, “Who you know wants to
buy a car?” who created a dealership dynasty
in southeastern Wisconsin; Ernie Von Schle-
dorn or EVS has even got a car dealership on
the WBNPR layout!
Vintage airplanes fill the sky, poking out
from the blue backdrop, showing off for the
enthralled crowds below. For seven days in
the middle of summer, during EAA AirVen-
ture, Oshkosh, population 66,778, has the
busiest air control tower in the world.
The home of the Green Bay Packers foot-
ball team, Lambeau Field, is proudly dis-
played and is certainly a crowd favorite,
especially during football season. There is a
cemetery that leads up to The Basilica of the
National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians
at Holy Hill. Just like with the old layout,
Holy Hill sits silently shrouded amongst the
tree tops, the Jesus Car carefully making its
way up the hill.
Everywhere you look there are the signs
of Fall from a pumpkin patch to a witch sil-
houette in the moon. A truck trying valiantly
to make its way up a hill, loses part of its
load and pumpkins tumble down the middle
of the street back the direction they came.
Finally we make our way to La Crosse where
the La Crosse City Lager Brewing Company
once again pumps out beer for its residents.
